TAKE THE REALLY, REALLY LONG WAY HOME ON A MOTORCYCLE BUILT FOR THE AGES.

Turn up the Harman/Kardon® Advanced Audio System and enjoy a motorcycle loaded with both passenger and rider luxury. New comfort-stitched seat. Wraparound backrest with a passenger-friendly adjustable Tour-Pak®. All that comfort gets powered down the highway by a black and chrome Twin Cam 96™ engine and six gears. New this year are a full chrome tank console with inset and Brembo® brakes. ABS and cruise control are available as installed options. It’s hard not to smile when someone tells you to hit the road.

NEW ON TOURING MODELS FOR 2008

New Brembo Brakes with available Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS): New high-performance Brembo brakes and a factory-installed ABS option are available on all 2008 Touring models. Incorporating the latest in braking technology, the new Harley-Davidson Brembo brakes offer consistent braking and stopping power under all operating conditions. Besides improved brake performance and feel, the Touring motorcycles retain their distinctive Harley-Davidson style. This world class braking system comes to the Touring line with proven capability directly from the VRSC line of performance custom motorcycles. The all-new ABS feature is designed to help the rider maintain control during emergency stopping situations, especially those that happen in less-than-ideal conditions. The components of the Harley-Davidson ABS have been designed and packaged to be virtually invisible, preserving the uncluttered styling of the area around the wheels. Unlike many motorcycle ABS, Harley-Davidson ABS is a manual, independent system, meaning the rider maintains control of how much of each brake is applied..
Larger Fuel Tank: Fuel capacity of all Touring models is increased by 20 percent, from five to six gallons. Combined with the 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission, the larger tank gives Touring models more range than ever before. The new tank also features new console styling with a new fuel range indicator, and also enabled the seat to be reshaped for more comfort.
Electronic Throttle Control: A new Electronic Throttle Control replaces mechanical cables on all Touring models. All wiring from the throttle-grip sensor is routed through the handlebars. The ETC enables the easy upgrade to a new cruise control system, and provides a clean custom look in the handlebar area.
Factory-Option Cruise Control: Available for all models that do not come equipped with cruise control as standard equipment, this new cruise control is offered at a lower price than the previous accessory cruise control system.
Isolated Drive System: Located in the rear sprocket, the Isolated Drive System improves ride quality under accelerations, shifting and cruising while reducing noise and vibration to the rider.
Adjustable Fairing-Mounted Wind Deflectors: The Ultra Classic Electra Glide model has standard adjustable fairing-mounted wind deflectors that improve ride comfort by allowing the rider to direct oncoming wind flow. The wind deflectors can be added to Electra Glide Standard, Street Glide and Electric Glide Classic models through Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Accessories.

LIKE A PRISON TATTOO, THE ELECTRA GLIDE® STANDARD IS READY TO GO WITH YOU EVERYWHERE.

Its no-nonsense style highlights what makes logging miles on a big Harley® so addictive. Get in the new comfort-stitched saddle. You have the same basics that make our full-luxury, top of the line models feel so good. The confident power of the Big Twin engine, made even better by last year’s new six-speed 96-cubic-inch design. The rear air-adjustable touring frame. New Brembo® brakes with optional ABS. Cruise control is available as a factory installed option. Get ready to lose count of how many state lines you’ve crossed.

105th Anniversary Editions: A limited-edition, serialized 105th Anniversary FLHTCU Ultra Classic Electra Glide, FLHRC Road King Classic, FLTR Road Glide, and FLHX Street Glide will be available in 2008.
